Psalm 23:3…but make it Oral Health
In Psalm 23:3, David says “He restores my soul.” This is one of my favorite bible verses of all time. I even have it tattooed on the left side of my torso. To connect my favorite bible verse and the purpose of this blog, oral health, I created the title “Psalm 23:3…but make it oral health.” I am referencing “He restores my soul” but turning it into “He restores oral health.”
The primary target audience are school-age children and young adults (kindergarten through high school seniors) . This intervention will also be available to low-income adults or adults with no dental insurance. Oral hygiene education and preventative services will be addressed through this health communication intervention.
The Virginia Dental Association Foundation provides dental services to underserved individuals and communities across the state of Virginia.1 I will partner with the Virginia Dental Association Foundation to work alongside their three major programs Donated Dental Services, Mission of Mercy, and Give Kids A Smile.2 By working with these programs, I will be able to implement the health communication intervention within the priority populations.
“For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore, I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’” – Deuteronomy 15:11
